San Antonio Zoo

A great spot to explore different species other than humans (which can get boring) is the San Antonio Zoo. I have been there multiple times because I visited when I didn’t live in Texas and then I went with friends when I did live there. To be honest zoo’s all seem the same but this zoo is the exception. Neglecting the animals for a second, like most spots in San Antonio, the environment is great space to be in. You have many happy faces and positive energies roaming around. The aromas of sugary treats will fill your nose to the point that you have to buy a snack or two. With Texas being such a hot place they have made many accommodations to where you can escape the heat if that is a worry to you. My mother being one of thoooose people still had an amazing time and she didn’t complain once about the heat.

Now for the important part, the animals are always cool to see and they have many different types of animals there. There to many to name so they have different categories like birds, Savannah, big cats, aquarium, and much more. My favorite animal specifically was the Komodo dragons because they are such huge looking lizards that are deadly. I’m always down to look at aquarium animals too. That’s probably my favorite category because you don’t often see animals that are under water. Whatever your flavor, they probably have it and even more. Take a break from your fellow mammals for a second and unite with other species as well.

Garner State Park

Next spot to go if you want to get away from the compacted area of San Antonio for a second is Garner State Park. This a place to camp, hike and enjoy views. I went with my friends and co-workers which was an amazing experience. The cooked out, played games, and explored. My favorite part was enjoying the peace and quiet for the moment.

We stocked up on supplies at HEB like food, water, and little activity items and then headed out which was about a two hour drive, but the drive is definitely worth it. As we got to our camp site we set up our gear then immediately went into games, while some explored a little bit. We set up for a two day exploration which was not even close enough but all the time we had. The water is very clear and the trees very green. The best part was finding different path ways that lead to a perfect picture opportunity. The best way to capture the view is through your own eyes. If you have the opportunity I encourage you to go breathe in the purest form of beauty possible.

The AT&T CENTER

Next hot spot would be the AT&T Center where things definitely get heated. The game to watch is a SPURS game. First things first, if you ever get the opportunity to go to San Antonio, NEVER disrespect the Spurs unless you are willing to die with those words. Now if you ever want to see the most loyal fan base, go to a Spurs basketball game. The environment is a sight to see. When going I went with friends that are die hard Spurs fans. They showed me the ins and outs of the building which was very cool because everything was so big with such a popular venue. Once again there were many different places to eat and drink.

As I said before, the fans seem crazy if your the opposing fans but if you are on the same side you realize the passion and competitive nature is all that’s taking place. When the Spurs win a championship the city of San Antonio goes wild for weeks because they are so passionate. The dedication that spurs fans have is inspiring and fun to watch. They are attentive nearly the whole game and the quick kinship that can happen in a matter of minutes is amazing.

The River Walk

When I graduated High School I had no plans and path until my brother offered me a place to stay with him in San Antonio, Texas.  I was very nervous because Texas is huge and like everybody else, I wanted to make sure I fit in.  When I got there, I got a job at Target and that’s when the adventure started.  I met some of my best friends and they took me to different places that I want everybody to have the pleasure of visiting if ever in San Antonio.Image result for riverwalk mall san antonio

The River Walk is a HAVE TO, when looking for a fun time.  The first time I went it seemed unreal with how many different things there was to do.  There is all sorts of things to do.  There is a mall that you can spend all day in itself with different places to shop and actives within the mall.  I preferred to play mini golf myself but there is bowling, movie theaters, and play areas if you have little ones to entertain.  If you want an adult experience, there are bars on top of bars and restaurants.

The best part of the River Walk is the actual River Walk itself.  There is different places to eat along the walk ways and very fancy restaurants.  You get to see many different groups of people while relaxing on a boat ride that passes through different important sites.  You also have someone on the boat telling you about the historical places and often times you get someone who has a good range of humor.  The best time to go is Christmas to enjoy the beautiful lights that they display.  The River Walk keeps up with the holidays so the place is always relevant to the day.  If you want to shop, play, relax, and/or explore, stop by the River Walk.
